Rebuilding a Playground After Superstorm Sandy with Fundraising

Today, on our Facebook page, we featured a story about the New York School for the Deaf raising money for a new playground. Their current playground was heavily damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The school is looking to raise funds to provide their students with a new playground, complete with a poured rubber surface to accommodate children with walkers and wheelchairs.

Many playgrounds are funded by grants through different organizations, including the government. But more and more schools, churches, and day care centers are relying on donations to fund their playground projects. Whether through fundraisers in the community, donations from individuals in the community, or fundraising websites, this option has been successful for many groups, schools, and organizations. PTA and PTO organizations lead the way in the fundraising effort for schools, but anyone can get involved.

If you are looking to help out an organization obtain new playground equipment simply contact local schools or do a quick web search and you are sure to find many to help!
